I was “today years old” when I learned that some wedding venues close their bridal suites before the reception starts. Technically, it was “this past year” years old, but when we’ve been in the wedding industry for 20 years, it feels like today.
My hunch is they do this to prevent people from sneaking drinks behind closed doors? My wife and I are parents of three adult kids. Trust me, if someone wants to do something, they’ll find another door. Or maybe they want to expedite cleanup? I don’t know.
What i do know: We don’t do that. It’s nice for the bride to have a room to freshen up or change a dress. And it’s super nice for the couple to have a private space to sneak some time alone!
